CyberKongz Genkai is a collection of 20,000 anime-inspired NFTs embarking on a journey through Niakea. The journey unfolds in the Genkai Manga, meticulously crafted by CyberKongz founder and artist Myoo.
Emaki represents a new frontier in storytelling, merging narrative and blockchain technology to deliver an immersive experience for Genkai holders. Alongside the unfolding story, limited edition physical and digital collectibles will be available through Emaki scroll draws every season.
Our challenge is to create a cohesive digital ecosystem that seamlessly integrates features like draw mechanics, manga reading experience, and NFT customization to deliver an unparalleled collectible experience for Genkai holders.
Leveraging our deep-rooted partnership with CyberKongz, Sixty Two is uniquely positioned to craft the immersive NFT ecosystems. Building on our previous engagement, we elevate the Genkai NFT experience through compelling storytelling grounded in the world of Niakea. Our innovative approach fosters a deeper connection between holders and their collectibles, driving social engagement and setting new standards for the digital collectible industry.

Architecting a Strong Foundation for a Holistic Collectible Experience
Based on CyberKongz's blueprint, we outlined weekly activities for Genkai NFT holders across each season. With the dashboard as our starting point, we visualized its evolution, guiding users from manga exploration to collectible rewards and NFT customization, transforming holders from eager readers to proud collectors. Each feature was carefully integrated to create a seamless narrative.

After careful planning and discussions with CyberKongz, we identified two complexities arose from these needs to enable the immersive collectible winning experience:
- Accommodate Variability: Not every season will include all features, such as manga reading and draw, therefore we developed a flexible framework capable of accommodating these variations without relying on specific elements.
- Seamless Transitions: The platform had to manage various mini-events, like manga releases, collectible wins, and shopping periods, ensuring a coherent user experience. This involved designing states and flows that responded to event timelines.
To overcome these challenges, we focused on understanding each feature individually. This approach helped us visualize how features could work together seamlessly while maintaining their unique identities.
How Might We craft a scalable and seamless framework that blends storytelling elements with a collectible experience?
A Central Hub for Engagement
To enhance user experience and focus attention on crucial information, we implemented a dynamic dashboard featuring the “bento box” approach. Each island represents a different aspect of the platform, such as manga reading or collectible winning. This design ensures that key information is always prominently displayed as the season progresses.
By incorporating CyberKongz assets and visually appealing elements, we transformed the dashboard into an engaging and immersive space. Additionally, strategic prompts encouraged user participation in collectible draws, driving engagement.
Immersive Manga Reading Experience that Inspires Genkai Customisation
In collaboration with CK artist Myoo, we envision an authentic manga reading experience inspired by the physical act of reading a manga. This includes experiences such as selecting a manga from the cupboard, right-to-left reading experience, and adding background music to elevate the reading experience. This attention to detail aims to deepen user immersion and foster a stronger connection to the story.
By presenting manga in a visually appealing and intuitive format, we hope to inspire users and generate excitement for each new release. We also anticipated that this immersive experience would encourage users to customise their NFT Genkai collections based on the manga content via the PFP editor.
Exciting and Guided Collectible Winning Experience
To create a thrilling yet supportive collectible winning experience, we designed an interface that emphasises user agency to initiate the draw process, making user feel they're in control of the deck pool.
To provide guidance and context during the drawing process, we introduced Xinoko to offer helpful tips and instructions. This addition serves a dual purpose: first, it balances excitement with clarity, reducing user anxiety and enhancing overall satisfaction. Second, as Xinoko is the travel guide in the world of Genkai, it strengthens the storytelling aspect of the experience.
Centralised Asset Management With Clear Navigation
The “My Genkai” hub provides a centralized platform for users to manage their Genkai NFT assets, including purchased Genkai and items won through draws. From here, users could access the PFP editor to customize their Genkai with collected accessories, like clothing inspired by the manga storyline, or review their Equippable Traits and Miscellaneous items acquired through Sentaku, all in one place.
Adaptive Screens Enabling Intuitive NFT Customisation Experience
Leveraging insights from our data analytics in a previous collaboration, we identified that over 50% of PFP editor users access it via mobile devices. Recognizing this, we went beyond the initial requirements and developed platform-specific designs for both desktop and mobile. This strategic move ensured that the editor's interface was seamlessly optimized for different screen sizes, providing a tailored user experience. By prioritizing user needs, we enabled users to express their creativity effortlessly, enhancing overall engagement and satisfaction.
Genkai Emaki transforms digital collecting into an immersive adventure, weaving together the thrill of discovery with an engaging, intuitive user interface. Through the Sentaku feature, users are empowered to shape their own experiences, while Xinoko guides them with helpful insights, striking the perfect balance between excitement and ease. Thoughtful touches like the “Bento Box” dashboard and an authentic manga reading experience elevate user interactions, making each session a journey through the world of CyberKongz. By reimagining the user journey and providing endless opportunities for customisation, we’ve created a space that keeps users eager to explore, ensuring that every step in Genkai feels as captivating as the last.
