Diving into the Alternate Reality with CyberKongz' Web3 Innovations

Background
CyberKongz is an NFT project founded by the artist Myoo in March 2021. CyberKongz started as a unique and randomly generated collection of 1,000 34x34 pixelated NFT gorillas, known as the Genesis Collection. As one of the earliest PFP NFT projects, CyberKongz has consistently introduced and popularized a number of innovative NFT mechanics. These include the $BANANA token, breeding capabilities, and Play & Kollect.
What started as the Genesis Collection has now evolved into a comprehensive ecosystem in Web3, offering a range of features and experiences beyond just the initial NFT release. With the rise in popularity and establishment of its name in the Web3 realm, there is a need to create a seamless experience across CyberKongz' digital platforms while maintaining its strong and unique visuals.

Our Approach
Transforming the journey from start to finish
NFT Holder vs. Non-Holder Experiences
Given the present state of Web3, which can be confusing and not very user-friendly, the challenge is to minimize complexity and emphasize what matters most to the user. The overall strategy for the CyberKongz ecosystem is to create entry points for easy access to the different platforms within the ecosystem, while also addressing the content needs of both holders and non-holders.
Showcasing the artworks
Interactive Showcases
CyberKongz frequently collaborates with different brands and is continuously expanding its ecosystem. We'd like to celebrate these collaborations by showcasing them in a dedicated section in the website. This section provides visitors with a unique and immersive experience, allowing them to explore the latest collaborations and products in a fun and interactive way.
The Kollections: Spotlighting the Kongz
In the previous rendition of the website, the collection of Kongz was not easily accessible. As part of our efforts to enhance the user experience, we revamped the website to showcase the collection as an individual page, consolidating all available types of Kongz in a single, easily accessible location. Additionally, we included a banner, as an entry point, to provide a brief overview of each Kongz type and its utility. These changes were implemented with the aim of streamlining navigation and providing a more comprehensive understanding of their products.
Enhance users' understanding of the ecosystem
Blueprint: Envisioning the Future with Users
With CyberKongz experiencing rapid growth, maintaining transparency and keeping the community informed about current and future initiatives is crucial. Despite active communication of progress across various social platforms, information can be scattered and difficult to locate. To address this challenge, we created a dedicated page called "Blueprint". This page consolidates essential information about CyberKongz, including its vision and principles, Metaverse updates, real-world events, community contributions, social impact, and the growing ecosystem. Our goal is to provide greater accessibility and a streamlined approach to keeping the community up-to-date with the latest developments.
Play & Kollect: Jungle Adventure
Play & Kollect (PnK) starts as the bridge between all existing and future assets of the CyberKongz universe. With the newly added PnK page on the public site, it helps users to understand CyberKongz' overall minting experience and its features.
There are different Points of Interest (POIs) on the map of Jungle Adventure with tutorials to onboard users to understand the first minting game within the PnK ecosystem — Adventure Run.
Collaborative process with CyberKongz
The Klaw!
For The Klaw!, we were given the opportunity to work closely together with CyberKongz' artist Myoo to build on the visual of the first expansion of the Play & Kollect ecosystem.
Apart from designing the screens for the end-to-end flow, we also defined the micro animations for various interactions and expand The Klaw! environment based on Myoo's initial concept render (left).
Design System
We developed a scalable design system to be used across CyberKongz' upcoming digital platforms. The system ensures visual consistency with a goal to expedite development processes.

The Kongz are the key artwork of CyberKongz. Therefore, it is important to prominently feature them on the brand's public website. With this in mind, we have developed two different approaches that effectively showcase the Kongz.
The first approach - Alternate Realities - centers on placing the Kongz within a cyberpunk and futuristic environment, creating a sense of different realities. On the other hand, the second approach - Artwork Focused - focuses primarily on the Kongz themselves, with minimalist background and surroundings.
After careful consideration, we proceeded with the first approach, highlighting the Kongz in an engaging and visually striking manner.
